Where our prices come from, in plain English.
A price is only useful if you know how it was made. This page explains what the ResellBazaar Price means, where the numbers come from, and what we will never let influence them.
Last updated:
A fair range, not a single magic number.
The ResellBazaar Price is a fair-price range for a specific device in a stated condition — what a reasonable buyer and seller could agree on in India today. It is a reference point for negotiating, not a guaranteed offer.
Two identical models can sell for very different amounts. Battery health, a replaced screen, missing box and bill, or a few months of warranty left all move the price. That's why we publish a range per condition instead of one figure.
Where the numbers come from.
[OWNER TO FILL: methodology summary] Describe the data behind the prices: which sources, how many data points per model, and how they are combined into a range.
What we don't do: we do not scrape marketplace or trade-in sites (OLX, Cashify and similar) for prices, and we don't copy anyone else's price list.
How often prices are updated.
Prices are reviewed every month. Each price page shows a "Last updated" date at the top, so you always know how fresh the number is. If a page hasn't been updated in a while, treat its range with more caution.
What Excellent, Good and Fair mean.
Excellent
Looks close to new. No visible scratches or dents at arm's length. Everything works, original parts, healthy battery.
Good
Light signs of use, such as minor scratches on the body. Fully working. Screen free of cracks and dead pixels. Battery holds up for normal use.
Fair
Clearly used: visible scratches or dents, a worn battery, or a minor fault that is disclosed. Still usable day to day.
A device that doesn't power on, has a cracked screen, or is locked to an account falls below Fair and is priced case by case.
The things that change the number.
- Battery healthA worn battery is one of the biggest discounts, especially on iPhones.
- Screen originalityA replaced or copy display lowers the price, even when it looks fine.
- Box and billProof of purchase reassures buyers and usually adds to the price.
- Warranty leftAny remaining brand warranty adds value.
- Storage, RAM and colourHigher storage and RAM sell for more; some colours sell faster.
Why a dealer's offer can differ.
The valuation calculator gives a quick estimate from a few answers. A dealer prices the actual device after inspecting it, so the offer can be higher or lower. If it's lower, ask what brought it down — and remember you never have to accept.
